It is all in the game said someone. See the coin, it has two sides and one without the other wouldn't carry much weight. It is dangerous too! How? It may be construed from a simple reality that the world has seen enough bloodshed over money. Kingdoms and countries plundered in the name game to raise levels in power play. But to benefit the fiefdom of the lessee? That is dangerous. Thus came into existence Masters who were Dangerous. These dangerous masters needed obedient Servants for to satisfy their never ending list of wishes.
Ragging though has been banned from Colleges across the country, but do we talk about ragging in real life? Our lives are held hostage in smaller fiefs of dangerous masters! Be it the local rickshaw-puller, the bus conductor or your office colleague. They are more knowledgeable and can rag you every now and then with impeccable impunity. Immunity to being caught offtrack while ragging by such people is their subscribing to even more dangerous masters. So there is a chain that leads to events that occur. Our external world is a manifestation of our internal world said Swamiji. So true! But on a different context, he said, "that which is external is but a dull reflection at best of that which is inside".
These obedient servants attack each other so that there is a constant disturbance in heir molecular structure that helps the maters strike deals. In today's sufferings of the citizens of this country, the contribution of the rulers to the apathy of the 'aam admi' is unquestionable. We have attained independence but remain obedient slaves under our own masters who are more dangerous than the ones we drove away! All monies sanctioned so far since independence got washed away with development striking a perfect cord with laundering.
To build a nation needs grit and determination which we lack. Then, are we just a nation of scavengers who get lured to steal every penny strewn? Just let me tell you a fact. Kolkata Metro issued tokens to commuters to facilitate their entry and exit that cost approximately Rs. 20/- each. The commuters boarded the trains using them but did not bother to return them finding other exits lucrative causing a loss of 57,000 such tokens to the authorities on the very first day!
Thus, can we blame our dangerous masters to have made us behave as such? Definitely not. It is our crass coolie mentality that makes use commit such even in high places. Perhaps Swamiji remarkably remarked " With the majority of mankind, the mind is greatly under the control of the body, their mind being very little developed. The vast mass of humanity is very little removed from the animals".
In acquiring knowledge we make use of generalisations, and generalisation is based upon observation. We first observe facts, then generalise, and then draw conclusions or principles. The knowledge of the mind, of man, of thought, can never be had until we have first the power of observing the facts that are gong on within. It is comparatively easy to observe facts in the external world, for many instruments have been invented for the purpose, but in the internal world we have no instrument to help us.
